The Havana cathedral welcomed this Wednesday, February 2, religious men and women who, in communion, celebrated the Day of Consecrated Life under the motto “Walking together.”<\/p>\n
Coinciding with the feast of the Presentation of the Lord, the meeting was an opportunity to share after times of isolation and forced physical distances.<\/p>\n
At first, and based on participatory dynamics, the religious family of the Archdiocese of Havana thanked God for the gift of consecrated life and its mission of enriching the Church with its virtues and charisms, bearing witness to the dedication totally to the Lord.<\/p>\n
A mission that implies leaving the temples and committing oneself to the social reality of Cuba, with the joys and pains that the gift of everyday life means. In this sense, it was a shared desire “that God renew, every day, the beauty of serving and living”.<\/p>\n
The Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Father David Pantale\u00f3n, superior of the Jesuits in Cuba and president of the Cuban Conference of Religious Men and Women (CONCUR). In his homily he invited us to look back and discover, in the midst of painful situations, the beauty of God, the mystery of his action that becomes flesh in each vocation.<\/p>\n
He recalled that the consecrated respond to God, responding to the cries of the people, since religious life is based on fidelity to the truth, and that means building relationships of justice, fraternity, peace and dialogue. “We already have everything,” he assured. “We have the treasure of faith.”<\/p>\n
