Musicians involved in SMS<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

With an “Amen” toned by more than 120 voices in the imposing Church of St. Francis of Asses, this Saturday was held the closing concert of the VII Week of Sacred Music (SMS), a great cultural gala under the direction of the German teacher, Kunibert Shafer, where the most representative groups of the Cuban choral field participated together with the students of the Institute of Sacred Music and Musical Pedagogy , from Regensburg, Germany.<\/p>\n

“Exhausted by the tightness of programming and the extensive and intense number of repertoires that have been studied and heard, it is always a privilege to return to our cultural essences and share in seven days a lot of music and many life experiences,” said Mois\u00e9s Santiesteban, musician and organizer of the event.<\/p>\n

After thanking each of the institutions and musicians involved in the SMS, the organist of the Archdiocese of Havana commented that each of the experiences of these weeks will be essential in the practical exercise of their lives as professional and sacred musicians.<\/p>\n

In other words, the specialist Claudia Fallarero, this last concert was nuanced by group language, a plurality that became a single voice and a single faith, which had music as a mobilizing agent of changes in the human being from its deepest essences.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, a concluding moment also of the Workshop of Interpretation of the Sacred-Musical Choral Repertory, the protagonists were the following choirs: Vocal Leo, directed by Corina Campos; Schola Cantorum Coralina, by Alina Orraca; Ensemble Vocal Luna, by Maribel Nodarse; the ENA Chamber Choir, by Jos\u00e9 Rolando Dur\u00e1n; the female coral Amadeo Rold\u00e1n, by Susana Hern\u00e1ndez; the Male Choir, by Leonardo Barquilla and the Mixed Amadeo Rold\u00e1n Conservatory and the Havana Polyphonic Choir, both conducted by Yanelys Smith.<\/p>\n

In addition, each of the SMS teachers received recognition from their students for their dedication to the noble task of training the new generations of Cuban musicians in this type of religious repertoires.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
