In mid-May last, at the Padre F\u00e9lix Varela Cultural Center, the 6th Expoemprendimiento Fair was held, as part of the celebration for the seventh anniversary of the CubaEmprende Project, based in the building of the former Seminary of San Carlos and San Ambrosio.<\/p>\n
The results of the project in these seven years are noticeable, as it has graduated 3 thousand twenty-five people from the Taller Emprende in Havana, of which 54% is in the age range between 26 and 45 years.<\/p>\n
For this edition 235 people were accredited, with 73 businesses and other participating projects, distributed in 48 stands. The most represented sectors were: artisanal productions (15), communication and advertising (11) and computer and digital services (9). In addition, 24 products and several companies were presented. The activities were attended by more than 1000 visitors, a figure that exceeded the previous edition.<\/p>\n

As part of the celebration, the photography contest “Emprender en la ciudad” was awarded. Habana500″, which had 27 participants and 83 papers presented.<\/p>\n
As part of the closing was presented the expected Oasis Award for Corporate Social Responsibility 2019, which adds to the CubaEmprende Awards, the best Stand Design, and the Popularity Award.<\/p>\n
The project<\/p>\n
CubaEmprende aims to help raise the quality of life of Cubans and contribute to social advancement through the improvement of an economic mindset. To this end, it provides business training and advice to people who have decided to initiate or improve an economic activity within non-state management forms.<\/p>\n
Currently, it has more than 141 advisory business projects, 15 companies graduated from the area of Business Services and the organization of two events of annual size: entrepreneurs’ fairs in May and November, designed according to foster spaces for business promotion and feedback.<\/p>\n
In the words of Jorge Mandilego, executive director of the project, “these years have led to the emergence of a group of entrepreneurs capable of organizing and forming a community that together with us promotes and supports the development of a social economy for cuba’s progress”.<\/p>\n
