Writer Leonardo Padura’s entry ceremony to the Cuban Academy of Language

The writer Leonardo Padura, National Prize for Literature 2012 and Princess of Asturias de las Letras Award 2015, Honorary Member of the National Academies of the Spanish Language of Puerto Rico, Panama and Costa Rica, will hold his formal act of entry into the Cuban Academy of Language on November 26 at 3:00 p.m., in the Conference Hall of the Palacio del Segundo Cabo.

Padura, who published this year in Spanish language his novel La transparencia del tiempo (Tusquets Editores) and has just received in Spain the Barcino International Historical Novel Award, awarded by the Ministry of Culture of Barcelona, will read in the act of entry his unpublished essay “Why a novel is written”.

Interested parties are reminded that entry to the ceremony is free and that this will be one of the few public events in which Padura will participate in his country during this year 2018, in which he has made presentations and lectures in countries such as Spain, Mexico, Greece, United States, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, Dominican Republic and Switzerland.
