In front of more than a hundred lay people and religious from various communities, members of the Cuban Catholic Association for Communication (SIGNIS), in its young branch, were presented on Sunday, September 2, at a mass organized by the Youth Pastoral (PJ) of Havana, about the beginning of the pastoral year.
The celebration took place in the Minor Basilica and Archdiocesan Shrine of our Lady of Charity, located in the center of the Cuban capital, and was presided over by Father Jorge Luis Pérez Soto, advisor of the PJ in the territory, accompanied by Fr. Ariel Suárez, parish priest of the host community.
In the event, Amalia Ramos Ivisate, coordinator of the communicative project, emphasized that SIGNIS acts around the world for a solidarity communication and for the transformation of our cultures in the light of the Gospel.
Under that maxim, he invited those who feel such a vocation to join the team, which has developed a strategy for the coming months, as part of the process of training SIGNIS Latin America and the Caribbean.
Together with her, Adrián Martínez Cádiz, Rachel Diez Hechavarría, William Ferrer Entenza and Yandry Fernández Perdomo, members of the Association, dialogued with those present and applied surveys with the aim of perfecting the work that is done.
In addition to the joy of starting the year by sharing faith, they noted that there was the satisfaction of exchanging with the boys more closely, knowing their needs and aspirations to engrumize work in that regard.
The Cuban Catholic Association for Communication (SIGNIS) is a professional and autonomous, non-profit organization that seeks to bring together all Catholic communicators, as well as others linked to the world of communication and who share their objectives.
During the ceremony, a project of evangelization in areas of the periphery was also presented, which has served as a preparation for World Youth Day (WYD) Panama 2019.
Before the end of the Eucharist, the young Habaneros entrusted their intentions and commitments to our Lady of Charity of Copper, patron saint of Cuba, because days later, on September 8, they would commemorate their feast. / By SIGNIS Cuba Joven
