Con el lema “Actúa siempre con toda Justicia”, se celebró el pasado 5 de marzo la Quinta Edición del Festival Ecuménico, en la sede habanera de la Comunidad de Sant’Egidio . Actividades como esta hacen que la idea de la unidad de los cristianos deje de ser un sueño, para convertirse en un modo de vida dentro del hacer cotidiano de nuestras comunidades.
Como ejemplo de auténtica cultura ecuménica muy a tono con el contexto actual, en su oración, la pastora Liudmila Hernández, de la Iglesia Presbiteriana de Centro Habana, pidió a Dios por la paz entre todas las naciones y religiones del mundo.
También durante la gala, un hecho especialmente aplaudido fue la presentación del Psico-ballet, proyecto que tiene como protagonistas a niños y jóvenes con Síndrome de Down y otras capacidades especiales. Igualmente muy bien recibido por su colorido y alegría evangelizadora, fue el coro de estudiantes africanos, adscritos a la Iglesia Bautista.
Entre los presentes al eventose encontraba el Padre Ariel Suarez, quien es responsable por la Conferencia Episcopal Cubana de la atención al sector ecuménico. El Festival es la materialización del deseo reiteradode varios Sumos Pontífices de alcanzar la unidad de los seguidores de Cristo, explicitada por San Juan Pablo II en su Encíclica Ut unum sint y sobre el cual el Papa Francisco ha llamado a construir entre los buenos hombres y mujeres una verdadera amistad social.
