Last Monday, September 10th, the new academic year 2018-2019 began at the Seminary San Carlos and San Ambrosio.

The Eucharist, which marked the beginning of the year, was presided over by Msgr. Juan de la Caridad García, Archbishop of Havana and it was also attended by Msgr. Giorgio Lingua, Apostolic Nuncio, Archbishop Juan de Dios Hernández, Auxiliary Bishop of Havana and several priests and teachers who accompanied the seminarians. At the conclusion they all participated in the inaugural lesson dictated by Father Jorge Luis Gil, whose theme was “Self-understanding of the Christian faith in a massive context of religious indifference.”

This new course takes as a guide the pope’s words in his message for the day of prayer for this year’s vocations, when he described vocation as a call, follow-up and mission.

The day continued with a fraternal lunch. In the afternoon, seminarians and trainers, along with the religious who collaborate in the Seminary, held their first meeting as a community and adjusted the details for the course.
