This Friday, December 18, the Christmas concert took place in S.M.I Cathedral of Havana, this time entitled “Let’s all go to Bethlehem”.

The musical meeting was attended by S.E.R Cardinal Juan de la Caridad García Rodríguez, Archbishop of Havana; Monsignor Giampiero Gloder, Apostolic Nuncio; Archbishop Ramón Suárez Polcari, Chancellor of the Archdiocese, and a representation of priests, religious and laity.

Under the artistic tutelage of the master Moisés Santisteban began the traditional show with the musical piece “Adestes Fideles”, directed this time by the exceptional Alina Orraca, who was accompanied by her group Schola Cantorum Coralina.

In addition, conductor José Antonio Méndez led the orchestra of the Lyceum Mozartiano of Havana in several Christmas musical and carol pieces such as “Jingle Bells” and “Angels Singing Are”.

On the presbytery of the Cathedral also shone the children of the School of San Cristobal of Havana led by Dir. Mailán Avila.

In his Christmas message, Cardinal Juan de la Caridad García Rodríguez recalled the importance of the family and reconciliation between parents and children, grandparents and neighbors.
“At this birth we also see angels singing and proclaiming, “I say to God in heaven and in Cuba peace,” he said.

At the end of his words, the Archbishop of Havana exhorted everyone to look to the sky in these bright star-filled days to guide us to meet Jesus.

The night closed with the performance “Encore”, played on the piano by the famous pianist Ernán López Nussa and sung by the solitas Felix A. Pedro and Miguel Herrera.

Cuban television will broadcast the Christmas concert in full. Later we will inform the schedules and the channel where this show will be broadcast.
