The Mission is an inessible part of the body of the Church, John Paul II, one of the patrons of the JNJ warned: “… the Church that does not evangelize dies.” Therefore, there could not be a time to go to show the young face of Jesus, to all the communities of Centro Habana. Alejandro Arioza, a layman committed to extensive service work within the Cuban Church and coordinator of the Catholic movement, Nueva Evangelización, gave pilgrims some “Tracks for mission”.

Among the counsel given to the youth were these ideas:

Boys, it is the Evangelizer who proclaims a living person. She announces with joy the Good News and above all young people, she witnesses her.
Young people, the Holy Spirit convinces and converts, is the main agent of evangelization. His action is manifested in the evangelizer and in the evangelized.
Pilgrims, whenever they arrive in a house they must know that the evangelized person will somehow seek a way to listen and respond with his life to God.

The shipment was blessed by Monsignor Juan de la Caridad García, Archbishop of Havana, who gave the missionaries a small sheet with the alphabet of The Holy Mother Teresa of Calcutta and invited them to go joyful to proclaim the Gospel.

For Jesús Rodríguez Peláez of the community Our Lady of Charity of Copper, “the mission has been an extraordinary experience to go to this area of the Sites. Difficult but very rich, because there have been many people who have opened the doors for us. Thank God you have prayed with us and insisted with the question, where to refer later to continue listening to the Word.”

Ana Laura Portela Lois of the community of San Rafael said of her missionary experience: “It has been a good mission, where I was able to share with my other JNJ pilgrims, taking God’s message to several houses, most of them welcomed us well and listened carefully to what we conveyed to her.”

Boys and girls with joy brought the Word of God to a ward like The Sites, where some of the context have a great chance of living in environments of violence or poverty. However, jesus’ work was present in the missionaries, especially when one heard them say, I am going to missionary.
