For a week, Jaimanites and Holy Faith will be a land of permanent mission. In these villages on the north coast of Habanero, where there are no priests, Cuban and foreign lay people, together with the religious of the Congregation Daughters of Mercy of the Third Regular Order of San Francisco, the International Mission Cuba 2020.

In the temple of Santa Fe, dedicated to Our Lady of Charity, Cardinal Juan de la Caridad García, Archbishop of Havana, officially left this day open, which will run until next Friday, January 24. At Mass presided over by him, he recalled the need for our Church today to send disciples of Jesus to all peoples.

The Cuba 2020 Mission is the second moment to contemplate the Centennial Jubilee of the Founding of the Daughters of Mercy. The Hna. Salvadora Mercado, responsible for the formation of the lay area of the congregation worldwide, told the New Word that the Island “is a land thirsting for the Word of God, open to evangelization”, that is why her choice to live this time of celebration.

Embedded in the reality of these two Habaneras localities, missionaries from Paraguay, Peru, Chile, Croatia, Argentina, Canada, among other nations where the religious community is present, touch on the doors of houses to proclaim Jesus Christ and invite them to live in the divine logic of their free love for every human person.
