Jesucristo le dijo: Mi voluntad es conquistar todo el mundo y todos los enemigos y si quieres seguirme, has de trabajar conmigo porque siguiéndome en la pena también me seguirás en la gloria. Y Él dijo un sí sostenido durante 43 años.
El Espíritu Santo lo ungió sacerdote el 27 de diciembre de 1976 por imposición de manos de Mons. Pedro Meurice Estiú, Arzobispo de Santiago de Cuba, en la Santa Iglesia Catedral de dicha ciudad, y así pudo poner su amor en las obras más que en las palabras.
El 14 de enero de 2006 el mismo Espíritu por imposición de manos y oración consecratoria del Cardenal Jaime Ortega lo ungió Obispo para el servicio de la Iglesia de Cristo en La Habana.
Este mismo Espíritu dijo al Papa Francisco lo nombrara Obispo de Pinar del Río.
Santa María de la Resurrección, camina con tu hijo y cuéntale las alegrías de tu vida aún en medio de las lágrimas y ruega por él ahora y en la hora de entrar en la casa del cielo.
San Juan Evangelista, cuéntale a quien te lee todos los días, lo que oíste, viste, contemplaste, palpaste, anunciaste, testimoniaste para que él pueda hacer lo mismo.
San Juan de Dios, ruega por quien lleva tu nombre y ayúdalo en la continua búsqueda de El Padre Dios y recíbelo en la casa del cielo. Amén.
