“Inheritance” to embrace the world
The story of Denys San Jorge was complicated one day by waking up with the news that as a result of a reckless social attitude, the Covid-19 put its terroir in check and quarantine. Why is it that we’re still in pandemic?
Returning to the subject of Covid–19 and its presence in Cuba might seem recurrent and tedious, but the matter has no end. Everyone approaches it according to their own visions and interests. In a concrete way the reality is only one, SARS-CoV-2 continues among Cubans as the first day. The food situation and the supply of household support supplies is critical, circumstances force them out in order to meet basic needs.

The testimony of Lucia do Santos
The film “Fatima” is not only responsible for showing the beginnings of worship of our Lady of Fatima, but the transnationality of its events and messages on behalf of Portugal and the world. The film alternates between Lucia’s present and the researcher, and the origins of worship in the second decade of the 20th century. Unsurprisingly, curiosity about the capital fact and dramatic force of the story lie in that past, where the conflict between mistrust and other prejudices lies and belief and subsequent approval. However, as the facts were the case, the old Lucia confesses very resolutely to those who ask so much: “Faith begins within the limits of understanding”.

For Mon. Juan de Dios Hernández Ruíz, bishop of Pinar del Río, the virus that appeared in China a few months ago caused life to take on another rhythm. In tune with the popular saying that says, “If you want to see God laugh, show him your plans,” the Church in Vueltabajo had to adapt her life to a time of pandemic. However, as it quotes from a recently published book, peace in the midst of a pandemic is found only in Jesus. “The question for all of us, he says, is this: are we going to trust Him?”

Mother of Cuba, Mother of All
While September brings for believers, and for Cubans proud of their traditions, the celebrations associated with the Virgin of Charity of Copper, politics pokes out its hairy ear. Again, ideological stances, and more than these, hatred and the desire to separate and prevail, seek to meddle and soil issues where such attitudes and feelings should not be accommodated. How can some pretend that a sacred symbol, like that Mother of all, serves to sustain or to hate and oppose a political system? Charity, without exclusions, is everyone’s. No side has the right to politicize a celebration that rightly calls for harmony, peace, unity and not hatred. There are too many misfortunes right now, just because of the policies, hatreds and selfishness on the sides of the world, so that also the premises of peace and union are soiled with ideological mudslides.
