orphans the generous delivery of our
martyrs and the deceased, the noble and
simple from our village

Copper, so beloved and revered, the
pleas we present to you.

Mary, accompany her people
The Mother of Jesus, who “by admirable design and concession” of God the Father, intervenes “in the mysteries of our salvation”, concerned with the welfare of men. Mary, the mother who cared for Jesus, now cares with affection and maternal pain for this wounded world, prays to the Son to help them in their needs; orders men to do “everything, that the Son (…) said in the gospel what they should do.
In this way the Blessed Virgin Mary presents heses heses hemselves as a collaborator of God in the project of universal salvation, something that centuries later the Holy Bishop Augustine of Hippo comes to manifest by saying: “The God who created you without you, will not save you without you”. God asks for the collaboration of man to develop his project of full life in humanity.
Mary, respond to that collaboration requested by the creator. The SI, given to God’s envoy in the annunciation, is renewed and prolonged throughout the time, so it accompanies his children, those he received at the foot of the cross, in all his dreams, hopes and sorrows.
When ten years ago, he left, as a pilgrim, it was not to make a tourist trip through the nation, but to accompany and show that closeness that has always been present throughout our homeland history, to encourage and comfort, to invite us, once again, to put our faith and trust in his Son, who presents us as a new life , a small child and on the cross, a sign of God’s great love that gives everything to save humanity.
On his visit to Cuba Pope St. John Paul II, celebrating Holy Mass, where he crowned the blessed image of Our Lady of Charity, on January 24, 1998, reminded us that: “… From her sanctuary, not far from here, the Queen and Mother of all Cubans—regardless of races, political choices or ideologies—guides and sustains, as in the past, her children’s steps towards the heavenly Homeland and encourages them to live in such a way that in society authentic moral values, which constitute the rich spiritual heritage inherited from the elderly, always reign in society…” “….History teaches that without faith virtue disappears, moral values darken, truth does not shine, life loses its transcendent meaning, and even service to the nation can no longer be encouraged by the deepest motivations. In this regard, Antonio Maceo, the great Eastern patriot, said: “Whoever does not love God does not love the Fatherland” …” “…. Beloved faithful, never forget the great events related to your Queen and Mother. With the canopy of the family altar, Céspedes made the Cuban flag and went to prostrate at the feet of Our Lady before starting the struggle for freedom. The brave Cuban soldiers, the Mambises, wore on their chest the medal and the “measure” of his blessed image. The first act of cuba libre took place when in 1898 General Calixto García’s troops prostrated the the prostrate at the feet of Our Lady of Charity in a solemn Mass for the “Mambisa Declaration of independence of the Cuban people”. The various pilgrimages that the image has made for the peoples of the island, accepting the longings and hopes, the joys and sorrows of all their children, have always been great manifestations of faith and love.
Decena del Rosario
Right now think about
silence that
grace you want to ask God
through the intercession of Our Lady of the
Charity during this
ninth (Brief silence).
We offer this
dozen of the rosary for all
us who have
accompanied to Our Lady,
asking for our people to
lives through difficult times, where
you don’t see a horizon of
life, so you can
contemplate, as taken from the
Virgin’s hand and being
faithful to the Lord, we can
experience the mercy of
God who never gives up.
