The new priests are: Máximo Jenes Isasi, Luis Entrialgo Pintado, Lázaro Cánova Amador, Julio César Rodríguez Díaz and Junior Antonio Delgado Martínez. Of these, the first two served as permanent deaconos and the remaining three as transients, an order received after completing their training at the Seminary San Carlos and San Ambrosio. Likewise, Friar Luis Pernas, of the Order of the Friars Minor (O.F.M.), was ordained as a transient deacon.

After reading the gospel, the rites of the call, the request for ordination, and the election were made, in which the six candidates – first the aspirant to the diaconate and then the five to the priesthood – were called by name and the Church asked the archbishop to ordain them.

The homily of Cardinal Juan de la Caridad García was focused on exposing the meaning of priestly ministry amid the complex circumstances through which the country crosses.
Consecutively, candidates made promises of fidelity to ministry and obedience to the bishop. Then came the moment of prostration, where the intercession of the Saints by the ordained was invoked.

Cardinal García then spoke with each of the aspirants and asked them about their availability to receive the ministry. The rite concluded with an exhortation from the holder of the Haban archdiocese to each of the chosen ones: “God, who began good work in you, He himself will bring it to an end.”

Then the imposition of the Archbishop’s hands on the elected and the prayer of ordination was carried out. In the case of ordained to the priesthood, present priests also imposed their hands on them as a sign of co-responsibility.

Other rites of the celebration were the astitution with the Holy Crisma to the new priests and the surrender of the chalice and the patena with which the Eucharist was celebrated.

The five new priests have been assigned as parish priests in the following territories: Maximus Jenes Isasi, at the National Shrine of Jesus Nazarene rescue (Arroyo Arenas, Havana); Luis Entrialgo Pintado, in Nuestra Señora del Rosario (Guatao, Havana); Lazarus Cánova Amador, in San Juan Bautista (Jaruco, Mayabeque); Julio César Rodríguez Díaz, in San Nicolás de Bari (Mayabeque); Junior Antonio Delgado Martínez, in Nuestra Señora de la Paz (New Peace, Mayabeque).

Despite the complex epidemiological situation that the nation is living because of the recent regrowths of the new coronavirus, after the celebration of this important ceremony and the incorporation of the religious paul, Rubén de la Trinidad Leyva, into the line of diocesan priests, six priests who have been integrated as new parish priests in the various vicarages of this year add

Arquidiócesis.
