On November 16th and on the occasion of the 500th years of Havana, cardinal archbishop Juan de la Caridad García blessed from the Christ of Havana to the City and the Archdiocese on its four terms (north, south, east and west), in a religious ceremony that impressed by the dynamism printed by young people.

The cardinal, evoking those who participated in Havana’s founding Mass at the foot of the ceiba, invited all Catholics to publicly manifest the faith of their Church, as they have for years in other public spaces: schools, workplaces, social events, etc.

The procession for the 500 years of founding the town, presided over by Cardinal Juan de la Caridad García, Archbishop of Havana, left the S.M.I. Cathedral.

In a celebration presided over by Cardinal Juan de la Caridad García, Archbishop of San Cristobal of Havana, and concelebred by most Cuban bishops, God was thanked for the people who for 500 years have accompanied this city and its people, with an emphasis on the twenty-two bishops who have had the ecclesiastical province since its erection as diocese in 1787 and archdiocese , in 1925.

This Sunday came the pilgrim image of Saint Lazarus to the S.M.I Cathedral of Havana, as part of an initiative carried out by the members of the community of El Rincón and its rector, Father Elixander Torres Pérez, to celebrate the Jubilee of San Cristobal and the 500th anniversary of the founding of Havana.

“November of Entrepreneurs” takes place between the 7th and 8th of the current month, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., through conferences and exchange dynamics to share experiences.

In the Solemnity of All Saints and coinciding with the festivities for the fifth centenary of the foundation of the town of San Cristobal de La Habana, the National Association Pro Marina of Peru awarded its Medal of Honor to the Holy Tricentennial Virgin of Rule, in Eucharistic ceremony held in its Havana shrine.
